Payment Authorisation
1. What this is
Every pledge on Rotspit needs your explicit permission to hold your card now and, if the gift becomes fully pledged after your hold has expired, to place a new hold and charge your saved card without you being present. The app shows this text, with your amounts filled in, before you confirm a pledge. You must tick "I agree" to continue.
2. Authorisation text
Payment authorisation for your pledge to "{{item_name}}" 1. Today Rotspit places a hold of {{total}} on your card: your pledge of {{amount}} plus a service fee of {{fee}} (VAT included). You are not charged now. 2. Rotspit charges your card only when pledges cover the full price of the gift and every pledge is authorised. Rotspit then buys the gift from the retailer and ships it. 3. Card holds expire after a few days. An expired hold is never charged, and your pledge stays in place. 4. You authorise Rotspit to place a new hold of up to {{total}} on the same card without you being present when the gift is fully pledged, and to renew holds so that they expire together. Rotspit notifies you before each new hold. 5. If a new hold fails or your bank asks you to confirm it, Rotspit will ask you to confirm in the app. If you do not confirm within {{grace_hours}} hours, your pledge is released and you are not charged. 6. Rotspit checks the retailer's price before charging. If it has dropped, you are charged less. You are never charged more than {{total}} under this authorisation. 7. You can cancel your pledge until the gift is fully pledged. After that, it is released only under the rules above. 8. This authorisation ends on {{valid_until}}. 4. What we record
When you agree, we store the exact text you saw, its version and fingerprint, the time, the maximum amount, the end date, your device platform and a hashed IP address. This record is kept for the legal claims period, as described in the Privacy Policy.
